Mid-Century Modern Low-Lighting
Project Overview
Fabricating a lighting fixture using veneer as a primary material with machined hardware as a load-bearing mechanism.
Inspiration
Tasked with using Veneer as a primary material, I took inspiration from the geometric and curvilinear forms of Mid-Century Modern and Streamlined Moderne Design.
Ideation
Exploration of task, direct, and diffuse lighting through a variety of geometric and streamlined forms.
Fabrication
This design maintains material integrity while providing soft lighting in low-lit environments such as bars and restaurants.
